Billy Dee To Add Some Nostalgia To Star Wars IX

A long going rumor has now been confirmed by sources to The Hollywood Reporter.  Billy Dee Willams will return to the role he originated of Lando Calrissian. Last seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story amazingly played by Donald Glover, this is one of my all time favorite non-main characters in any film. When I heard this rumor, I figured it was a given. All of these movies so far have featured a major tie in character with Han & Luke. The unfortunate demise of Carrie Fisher left this one empty of that sort of nostalgia. I feel sorry for Keri Russell, as this totally eclipsed the news of her addition the day before as an "action heavy" character. After two misuses of Captain Phasma though, it's a little hard to get too excited about that one anyway. I'm actually pretty ecstatic about this addition of Billy Lee though. There's a lot riding on this one for me. As much as I loved TLJ, I feel like that love lasting, heavily rides on the shoulders of Episode IX. What do y'all think the addition of OG Lando? "Logan" Director To Tackle Boba Fett

So the fact that a Boba Fett film is in the works has been nearly overshadowed by the news that it will be written & directed by James Mangold. A THR exclusive reports the Logan director/co-writer will be picking the fan loved bounty hunter. With the additional unconfirmed rumor that he will be reunited with X-Men co-writer/producer Simon Kinberg. The two are pretty close after their work on Logan. A film which totally raised the bar on comicbook films when it came out. Story details are nonexistent right now, but this is awesome. We hear a lot of no one asked for a Solo movie. This however, paired with the announced ObiWan film is more in the realm of, "Let's do this!" I loved Logan , & I think this team will be perfect for Boba Fett, or Boba Fett: A Star Wars Story,  as I'm guessing it will be called. I started noticing a pattern after Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Anyway though, I'm totally excited for this lineup, what about y'all? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Star Wars Celebration 2019 Has Announced It's Official Time & Place

Yesterday the Star Wars Show featured a big announcement. Star Wars Celebration 2019 will take place in Chicago for five-days, taking place from April 11-15, 2019 at McCormick Place. This will mark the 20th Anniversary of  Star Wars Celebration. No details about panels or appearances have been revealed yet, but fans can start purchasing their tickets, including single-day, multi-day and VIP passes, on June 5 at 12 PM CST. I've never been to a Star Wars Celebration, but I know some people that made it to last year's in Orlando. Every single one of them talked like this was one of the greatest experiences of their lives. If I can figure out a way to go, I'll totally be there. Not too excited about it being in Chicago. I can think of a lot of places I'd rather go. However, this is lining up in time to not only shed light on Episode 9, but start confirming some of the many rumors out there. Like the series they're working  on or what film's are actually coming next. Obiwan? Yoda? Boba Fett? Jabba? So many things have been tossed around, I just want to know what's really coming next. This is a good a place as any to finally make those announcements. Anyway, if I can't go, hopefully they'll stream the whole thing again. I'm excited! Who else? "Making Solo" A Little Different Than Recent Featurettes

This little behind the scenes featurette just dropped for Solo: A Star Wars Story , & I immediately had 2 thoughts. The first was just how serious everyone is. You see the ones for Infinity War , Last Jedieven A Wrinkle in Time , & everybody involved looks like they're having a blast. Here it looks like if you even get a smile it's just a courtesy for the camera. I'm wondering if that's a reflection of everything this film went through. The other thing I couldn't get out of my head while watching this was how hard they're selling this. I never thought I'd see a Star Wars  movie get this hard of a push. Don't get me wrong, Star Wars  always spends a ton on marketing. It's just, usually it feels like a celebration. Like they're telling us we're lucky to get another Star Wars.  The marketing for this has seemed more like usual movie marketing. Even a little more desperate though, showing us almost everything they knew we would want in there. Answering all of our Star  Wars  nostalgia questions up front. In comparison to other Star Wars films, it's like they're asking fans to come for the first time, instead of just reminding us when to. Anyway, what do y'all think? Of this featurette, & the marketing in general? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Favreau Drops Time Setting For Upcoming "Star Wars" Series

Jon Favreau's upcoming, live-action Star Wars series is my main reason for caring about Disney's plans for a streaming service, & now we know exactly when it will take place. Favreau told Nerdist at the Solo premiere that the unnamed series takes place 7 years after Return of the Jedi's Battle of Endor. The series will introduce brand new characters to the Star Wars universe, and will be a Segway between Jedi  and The Force Awakens. Probably like Rebels  in between 3 & 4, except falling in between 6 & 7 in the same ballpark worth of time if I had to guess. I'm sure we'll see some familiar faces along the way as well. This is exciting. I'm hoping we really get a feel of the hows & whys to the Resistance & the First Order in this. What do y'all think? Are you ready for this series? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

7 TV Spots For "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Have Filled The Week

Solo: A Star Wars Story had it's big opening night last night. Reviews are as mixed as any modern Star Wars film, & I'm actually hearing good things from my usual trusted spots. I'm hung up on this excessive amount of TV spots released over the week though. Almost every day we've got a new TV spot, & I'm officially throwing up the white flag. It's not that there's a lot. Actually,  it's on point with the last few releases in quantity. It's that most of them are whole scenes, as opposed to remixes of the larger preview. I usually don't even pay them too much mind. I just feel like these showed me a lot. I can't say I've seen too much yet, but I'm definitely at my limit. At least most of what was shown, were scenes everyone knew was going to be in the film. May 25th is two weeks away though. This thing is now in danger of showing me a lot more than I wanted to see on the way in. That all said, you immediately know why they're doing this. The problems this movie went through are almost as excessive as the amount of people who have voiced they don't even really want a Han Solo film. Lucasfilm thinks they have some convincing to do. With that in mind, I think they've totally made their point. This looks really good. A whole lot better than I ever thought it was going to look. It could just be the best scenes, & clever trailers, but in all honesty these trailers do me way better than the trailers for Rogue One  did. I'm pumped. I wanna see this... just no more trailers. What do y'all think of this excessive amount of TV spots? Too much? Quantity aside, what about quality? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Amazing 360 View Of That Notorious Sabacc Game

This will be the coolest thing you see all day! This video Star Wars put up puts you right in the middle of the Sabacc game that made Star Wars history. We all know how this clip from Solo: A Star Wars Story ends, or do we? For all we know this could be the first of many games back & forth between these old friends. This is an awesome way to see it though. It's so much to watch at one time it's almost overwhelming. I'm gonna watch this with some VR goggles, & totally shut off everything next time around. Perfect vid for Star Wars Day! May the Force be with you, & May the 4th be with you!

Help UNICEF Save Children With Your #RoarForChange

Before we get to this great message from UNICEF, I've got to address this video. The build up videos to Solo: A Star Wars Story so far have been great. This Chewie's a diva thing is no exception. I kept thinking about that character poster they left Joonas Suotamo's name off of? Maybe that's the real explanation. Seriously though this was hilarious. The shot with the umbrella is instant classic material. This is what it's all about though, Star Wars' Chewbacca challenges you to #RoarForChange. They want you to show them your best Wookiee roar! For each public post, like, or share on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that includes #RoarForChange between May 3 - 25, 2018, Star Wars: Force for Change U.S. will donate $1 to UNICEF USA, up to $1 million. Funds will be used to support UNICEF’s lifesaving work for children around the world. Learn more at ForceForChange.com.

Get Ready For May The 4th With Ron Howard's Telling Of "Star Wars: A New Hope"

This video is great!! Ron Howard gives Star Wars  : A New Hope the "Arrested Development" treatment. Just in time for May 4th, or Star Wars Day  as the fans know it, this vid had me rolling. You know you're in for a good start anytime a vid starts with "Meet Darth Vader." I also really love the totally shameless plug for Solo: A Star Wars StoryPart if me hopes they give all the films this treatment. At least, the original trilogy. Anyway, check it out, & have a great Star Wars Day  tomorrow!! Or even better, May the 4th be with you!!

Donald Glover Gives A Tour Of Lando's Millennium Falcon

I'm already convinced that Donald Glover's Lando will be by far the best aspect of May 25th's Solo: A Star Wars Story . This video just added fuel to my fire. Donald Glover gives you a full rundown of Lando's Millennium Falcon, before it became the "hunk of junk" we know it as. The tour is even complete with a walk through of the Cape room. Which, of course, Lando would have a cape room. I can't think of anyone else right now I would pick besides Glover to fill the shoes of Billy Dee Willams. Each time we see more, I'm that much more convinced not only will Lando steal this film, but we missed a great chance. A Lando film's where it's at. He's the main reason I'm excited for this film. Now I'm going to watch this a couple more times to freeze frame all the parts of the Falcon. Because yes, it's that serious. While I'm doing that let me know your thoughts on this video, like, & share.

This New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Featurette Has Me Starting To Think They Can Pull This Off

Solo: A Star Wars Story has had a major share of production problems. Alden Ehrenreich has an uphill battle trying to fill the shoes of Harrison Ford. No one seems to have asked for, or wanted this prequel. A part of me still thinks Lando is going to steal the show. After this featurette though, I've found myself really starting to come around. I'm starting to see a lot more Han in Ehrenreich, it looks like they're covering all the "greatest hits" like meeting Chewie & the winning of the Millennium Falcon, & on top of that, every new thing I see adds to this looking more & more entertaining. I'm getting a western vibe from it, & that actually works for me. I'm totally on board for this as of this featurette. Ron Howard looks like he put Humpty Dumpty together just fine, & any doubts I had I'm putting behind me. I could be wrong, but I think this one is going to be a pleasant surprise. What do y'all think? Are y'all signed onto Solo  yet, or still a little reserved going in? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

New Anime Inspired Cartoon To Lead Up To "Star Wars: The Force

Dave Filoni is a lesser known name, that has added more to the Star Wars universe than most. Co-creator of The Clone Wars  & executive producer of Rebels , this guy has overseen some of the most amazing stories to come out of the universe. EW just announced he's up to it again with a new anime inspired show for Disney Channel & then Disney XD. Star Wars Resistance will premiere in the fall & give us some history on the resistance we followed into The Force Awakens . The series will follow Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited to help spy on the First Order. He'll even run into Poe Dameron & Captain Phasma. With Oscar Isaac & Gwendoline Christie coming in to provide the voices by the way. This not only sounds awesome, it could answer so many questions that both the new movies leave wide open. Also executive-produced by Athena Portillo, Justin Ridge, & Brandon Auman, with art direction by Amy Beth Christenson, it will include the voice talents of Christopher Sean, Suzie McGrath, Scott Lawrence, Myrna Velasco, Josh Brener, Donald Faison, Bobby Moynihan, Jim Rash, and Rachel Butera. Can't wait for more details on this one. Will we finally get some Snoke background? What do y'all think? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Chewbacca Actor Gets No Love On New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Posters

Two things stuck out at me the second I saw these posters for Solo: A Star Wars Story. One could be just me. In that, I feel like these single character posters should give you a feel of the character. These don't. They're all basically the same exact poster. That's just me, & by far not the biggest problem however. The biggest problem is not what's there, it's what isn't. Joonas Suotamo, the actor that plays Chewbacca, is missing. Which they could've easily explained away if everyone else wasn't listed, but even the friggin alien & robot get a credit. How do they miss Chewbacca? That's messed up on so many levels. Joonas is even showing up to Hollywood Studios for Star Wars: Galactic Nights. I don't even know what to say. Mr. Suotamo I am offended for you. What do y'all think of this horrible oversight? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Is This That Notorious Game Of Sabacc? New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" TV Spots

Two new TV spots for Solo: A Star Wars Story have been released over the last couple of days. The first shows the meeting of Han & his furry copilot Chewbacca, as well as what could be the notorious game of Sabacc, where Han wins the Millennium Falcon from Lando. (I hope Lucasfilm doesn't miss this marketing chance to sell me a Sabacc deck!) Then, speaking of Lando, we get some exciting team up action in the second TV spot. It's exciting & scary at the same time to see Star Wars giving us something that almost feels like another genre still in the universe. I'm definitely getting a heist film vibe out of all these trailers. Especially, this second TV spot. All in all though, the more I see of this I'm having more & more faith in it actually being a good film. Lord knows all the chips have been stacked against it. I did get a scary feeling for the first time while watching these though. I've heard other people say it, but this is the first time I've wondered, if this is too much Star Wars? Star Wars has always had a certain feel to them. Seeming like almost grand events when they come out. Even the prequels, love or hate, are on another level for me than other films. However, for the first time this one just feels like a movie to me, & that's a little troubling. Hopefully, after actually seeing this I can say I'm wrong, & this is every bit as magical as the other Star Wars films. We won't find out for sure until May 25th. Until then, what do y'all think? Too much Star Wars? As good as this looks, do you think it will hold up? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Trailer Has Me Still Wanting A Lando Movie

So the new trailer just dropped for Solo: A Star Wars Story , & the biggest thing I once again came to was how much I would rather have a Lando film in its place. Donald Glover seems to just demand attention in every one of these trailers. The more we get of him, the more it shows too. After getting that out of the way though, this is a really solid trailer. If it's a true example of what to expect from Solo, it might actually wind up defying the odds. Finally, I'm starting to get a since of Han out of Alden Ehrenreich. Not much, but I'm starting to see a little of what becomes the smuggler we know & love. I'm also getting the sense that Woody Harrelson is going to deliver, as usual. He looks like he just really slid right into this role. This look here is the first I've actually been fully excited for this movie. It's still just a trailer, I've seen it go pear shaped from here. Going fromjust it though, this film looks like it could be even better than Rogue One: A Star Wars Story . Let me know what y'all think of the trailer below. Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Second Season Of "Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny" Superior To First

I just made it through the 8 episodes of Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny Season 2 that Disney released on it's  YouTube channel earlier this week, & I have to say I enjoyed these far more than the first season. Most of these have actual ramifications to the Star Wars universe. Not to mention they are put together so much better than their predecessors. My favorite episodes in this order from the new season are The Path Ahead , Bounty Hunted , & Unexpected Company. The first two of those fill in some blanks with some always needed Yoda wisdom & how Leia got that bounty hunter costume, while the third just makes Ahsoka Tano that much more awesome. I also loved the addition of Mas Kanata to the original trilogy. The other episodes are really good as well, with some good messages for younger viewers in the form of Hasty Departure  & Jyn's Trade . The only one of these episodes I could really do without is Shuttle Shock.  Which is kinda a shame, as I thought this might finally get me to care about Rose Tico. It was wasted though, & that relationship between her & Finn still just seems forced to me. Check 'em out though. Let me know what you think? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Jon Favreau To Write/Produce Star Wars TV Series!

This is awesome! Jon Favreau, the man who brought us Iron-Man, The Jungle Book,  & soon to come Lion King has just been attached to write/produce a Star Wars  TV series for Disney's upcoming streaming service. I love this guy! As an actor & a director he's amazing. He'll be working with a bunch of directors & writers throughout the series. As usual as of late, this is all we get. He'll be overseeing the series as a whole, we just don't know when, where, or what in the galaxy far, far away we're dealing with yet. I'll definitely be watching this one, & that means yes, Disney you have my money for your streaming service. What do y'all think of Favreau heading up a whole Star Wars series? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Mark Hamill To Get Spot On Walk Of Fame, Que Star Wars Puns

That's no moon. Luke Skywalker is getting a Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Mark Hamill, most known for the previously mentioned role, long time voice of the Joker, & an awesome Twitter presence, will be joined by Harrison Ford & George Lucas on Thursday, March 8th at 11:30 to accept this prestigious honor according to Variety. I've noticed a lot of action on the Walk Of Fame as of late. I once had thought this wasn't really a big thing anymore, but it seems it's still going strong. Congrats to Hamill for this amazing recognition. You definitely proved you deserve it after Star Wars: The Last Jedi.  What do y'all think? Not only of Hamill getting a star (as awesome as that is), but also the rise in Walk Of Fame popularity recently? Is this a thing for y'all still? It meant so much when I was a kid, it just dwindled a little in between now & then. Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Jon Favreau To Lend His Voice To "Solo: A Star Wars Story"

That's right, Iron Man's right hand man Happy Hogan will be voicing an alien character in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Collider reported this last night as director Ron Howard took to social media to make the announcement. I mean, all in all this usually wouldn't mean much to me. It's just a voiceover that if I'm being honest, I'd probably not even be able pick out if you didn't tell me who. This however is a little different for me because I love me some Jon Favreau. It's even getting to the point now where I don't know which I like more, Jon Favreau the actor, or Jon Favraeu the director. With Iron ManJungle Book under his belt, & Lion King now to come, Favraeu has quickly become one of my favorite directors to look out for. That said his director talents are neck & neck with his on screen talents. Don't believe me check out Chef. There's no way that movie should be as good as it is, but I've even watched it more than once. Anyway, always a great addition. I hope they make us try to figure out who he is. What do y'all think though? To Favreau, or not to Favreau? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Pics & More From "Solo: A Star Wars Story"

Entertainment Weekly is dishing out all kinds of tasty little morsels this week on Solo: A Star Wars Story.  This time with some exclusive new pics I've collaged down there at the bottom. Along with some extras on the film the filmmakers describe as a combination film noir & Western, with buddy comedy elements smuggled inside. Out of all those pics down there I've gotta say, Lando won the trailers & now he's winning the pics as well. He's right at home with the two-headed alien where Glover made sure to mention not only were they playing sabacc, but there's "a lot of it". Maybe he's eluding to a certain game in which a certain ship changes hands? You also get a shot of beautiful, mystery woman Qi'ra played by Emilia Clarke. Whom she describes as having "a couple of guises, but essentially she is just fighting to stay alive." You see Han & Chewie on the back of the Conveyex planning their heist. Second place for these pics goes to the shot of Tobias Beckett played by Woody Harrelson in the Falcon sitting arouund the holochess table. Woody has been my number one drive for wanting to see this film since he was announced. Hoping to up his status with a big heist, he winds up becoming a mentor to Solo. Ron Howard describes him as a "powerful criminal" & "free agent". Going on to say he "really shapes Han more than anybody, as Han comes to believe that in a lawless time, he needs a moral code." If you're like me though you're wondering about the poic of the muddy imperials. That's because it's not who that matters in that pic, it's where. That pic was taken on the swamp world of Mimban. If that souunds familiar it's because Mimban is the setting for the no longer cannon book Splinter of the Mind's Eye.  Can't wait to see what they're drawing from that. Lots of cool stuff though withn the promise of even more to come. What do y'all think of these awesome new pics & descriptions from Solo: A Star Wars Story  ? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
