The Episode IX panel was probably one of the most fun panels I've ever sat through. Worth watching just for Billy Dee Willams alone. A couple really big things I took out of this though besides the name & trailer was J.J. mentioning this takes place some time after TLJ, the whole group will embark on this mission, & the characters fighting the light & dark to face the bigger evil. Which left me like Colbert, who hosted the whole thing, wondering what the bigger evil could possibly be. Oh yeah, then there's the name Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker, & a perfect teaser trailer. This thing has me so pumped, & if you're not convinced that's the emperor laughing in the background, Celebration cut to Ian McDiarmid himself to roll it yet again. I know we're gonna see more, but they could have my money based just on this. Luke's lightsaber's back, apparently so is some form of Luke, & Emperor Palpatine himself. This looks epic! The backflip over the tie fighter, Kylo's run-through Braveheart style, Lando back in driver's seat of the Falcon? A perfect send off for the Skywalker saga. The trailer's at the bottom if you haven't seen it. Check it out, & don't forget to let me know what you think in the comments, like, & share.Read More
I expected this trailer to be awesome, but it was even better than I expected. From the time it started it commanded my attention, even more so than the teaser. Star Wars: The Last Jedi looks like it's going to take the foundation laid from The Force Awakens & dial it up to light speed. It seems as if The Force Awakens was the forward, & this is going to be the unfolding of the actual story. I wonder if this means that Episode IX will come off as an epilogue of sorts? What I gather from this Kylo has an extreme amount of Force power & so does Rey, Kylo has to now take out his mom, & Finn & Phasma are going to go at it for real finally. The ending though is where it was really at. Are we going to have a Kylo/Rey team up? Oh man, only time will tell, but I now can't wait for the December 14th to be here!! What do y'all think? Did this trailer blow you away like it did me? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
After seeing this if you can't tell this series is coming to an end, you watched the wrong trailer. I've loved almost every episode of this series, & that's saying a lot for an animated as there's always some "throw-away" episodes. That said, I can only think of less than a handful of these I didn't find some significance in. This new trailer looks like the last season won't disappoint either. Everything's coming to a close, & it hints to the fact that our heroes' fate might not lie with the rebellion. At least not with Mon Mothma's rebellion. There's three main things I took out of this trailer that I really want to see besides the fate of the Ghost's crew. First, there's the overall fate of Mandalore. I went from not really caring about this much, to this being the thing I want to see the most. They've really done this Mandalore build-up right. Second, there was the heavy influence of Saw Gerrera. He trained with Anakin Skywalker & Ashoka Tano in the Clone Wars, & somehow become a robotic shell of himself. Only to be very oddly acted by one of my favorite actors, Forest Whitaker in Rogue One. I'm hoping we get some signs into the overall mind frame & the robotics that make up the character between Star Wars Clone Wars & the events of Rogue One. Third, there's one of my favorite villains they've been re-inventing, Grand Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn got thrown away when the pre-Disney novels got labeled non-canon & re-dubbed Legends. He was by far the best thing about all of the Legend novels combined. It was great to see him re-invented last season, I just wanted more. Anyway, this trailer has me totally pumped. I can't wait for October 16. What did y'all think? What stood out? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
This is even better than the teaser trailer, & that stops me in my tracks still whenever I see it playing. I'm usually one who likes to see behind-the-scenes things, just not as promotional material. This did it right though. They managed to make a behind-the-scenes feel like a trailer. With looks at all kinds of new species throughout the galaxy, some of the new characters with some of the old, & real sets that actually blow up. That's what it was that did it for me now that I really think about it. The use of practical sets & actual explosions. Digital Effects are awesome, but I feel they're even better when used as a "seasoning", just sprinkled over already created actual, physical effects to blend the illusion. I can't wait to see this movie. Check out this trailer, let me know what you think in the comments below, like & share.
