Jon Favreau To Lend His Voice To "Solo: A Star Wars Story"

That's right, Iron Man's right hand man Happy Hogan will be voicing an alien character in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Collider reported this last night as director Ron Howard took to social media to make the announcement. I mean, all in all this usually wouldn't mean much to me. It's just a voiceover that if I'm being honest, I'd probably not even be able pick out if you didn't tell me who. This however is a little different for me because I love me some Jon Favreau. It's even getting to the point now where I don't know which I like more, Jon Favreau the actor, or Jon Favraeu the director. With Iron ManJungle Book under his belt, & Lion King now to come, Favraeu has quickly become one of my favorite directors to look out for. That said his director talents are neck & neck with his on screen talents. Don't believe me check out Chef. There's no way that movie should be as good as it is, but I've even watched it more than once. Anyway, always a great addition. I hope they make us try to figure out who he is. What do y'all think though? To Favreau, or not to Favreau? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Pics & More From "Solo: A Star Wars Story"

Entertainment Weekly is dishing out all kinds of tasty little morsels this week on Solo: A Star Wars Story.  This time with some exclusive new pics I've collaged down there at the bottom. Along with some extras on the film the filmmakers describe as a combination film noir & Western, with buddy comedy elements smuggled inside. Out of all those pics down there I've gotta say, Lando won the trailers & now he's winning the pics as well. He's right at home with the two-headed alien where Glover made sure to mention not only were they playing sabacc, but there's "a lot of it". Maybe he's eluding to a certain game in which a certain ship changes hands? You also get a shot of beautiful, mystery woman Qi'ra played by Emilia Clarke. Whom she describes as having "a couple of guises, but essentially she is just fighting to stay alive." You see Han & Chewie on the back of the Conveyex planning their heist. Second place for these pics goes to the shot of Tobias Beckett played by Woody Harrelson in the Falcon sitting arouund the holochess table. Woody has been my number one drive for wanting to see this film since he was announced. Hoping to up his status with a big heist, he winds up becoming a mentor to Solo. Ron Howard describes him as a "powerful criminal" & "free agent". Going on to say he "really shapes Han more than anybody, as Han comes to believe that in a lawless time, he needs a moral code." If you're like me though you're wondering about the poic of the muddy imperials. That's because it's not who that matters in that pic, it's where. That pic was taken on the swamp world of Mimban. If that souunds familiar it's because Mimban is the setting for the no longer cannon book Splinter of the Mind's Eye.  Can't wait to see what they're drawing from that. Lots of cool stuff though withn the promise of even more to come. What do y'all think of these awesome new pics & descriptions from Solo: A Star Wars Story  ? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Check Out Han Solo On This Weeks Cover Of Entertainment Weekly Along With Some New Details

Entertainment Weekly's upcoming cover story this week is none other than Solo: A Star Wars Story. Two trailers & now this back to back to back are trying to make up for the lack of exposure, at least for a Star Wars film, unusually close to the May 25th release date. With more coming throughout the week they dish some little nuggets on what Lucasfilm prez Kathleen Kennedy describes as "A heist, gunslinger type movie". Speaking of which, that monorail on steroids in the trailer? That's the Conveyex, a train Han must break into & steal something from to impress his new cohorts. Figuring thats the start of where she gets the heist portion from. Han's described as immature, less experienced, & needing to "gain the respect of the people he interacts with, even if they're the lowest of the low." Throughout he'll befriend Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), go crazy in love for shadowy Qui'ra (Emilia Clarke), & of course there's Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) & his droid L3-37. The young smuggler will also cross paths with "career crooks" Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson), blaster wielding Val (Thandie Newton), & crime boss Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany). Ehrenreich is then quoted as saying he thinks Han is really just trying to figure out who's good & who's bad. This, the trailers, so far this film sounds awesome. It all is going to hinge on Alden Ehrenreich's portrayal of Han Solo. We'll just have to wait & see. There'll be more coming from this article, there was already some more pics with more details on some of these characters. Until then, what do you think about where this is at so far? New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Full Teaser Is Missing Something

First of all this trailer is way better than I thought it was going to be. Paired with the Super Bowl Spot yesterday, these really give you a feel of what they're going for with Solo: A Star Wars StoryI really dig how this looks, the visuals & lived in Star Wars backdrops are awesome. That shot with the Star Destroyer in pursuit is one of the coolest shots I've seen. I would have that as a poster. The story it looks like they're trying to tell with the "kicked out if the academy" opening, seems like what we want from the film it seems not many wanted in the first place. Then hell, Donald Glover looks so perfect they should've just done a Lando film, & that gets me to what stands out the most for me... Where's Han? Did y'all see him? I've been saying that Alden Ehrenreich had some big shoes to fill. All in all I like to feel I'm pretty open minded. I also didn't want a Harrison Ford impression either. I was looking for at least a glimmer of Han though, I feel like so far I haven't seen it. Maybe it's because it's Han friggiin' Solo. The only character you could've chose I had seen more in my lifetime would be Luke Skywalker. Still, I wanted to see that glimmer of Han that I got from Chris Pine when he picked up the role of Kirk in the new Star Treks. I'll still be there Memorial Day ready to see it, & who knows by the end of all this I could really come around to this guy. He's got some convincing to do along the way is all. What did y'all think though? Am I wrong? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

At Last, A Trailer For "Solo: A Star Wars Story"

All truth be told, this year's Super Bowl has one reason to have me parked in front of it. Solo: A Star Wars Story. This thing had had a battle to get through, & in all honesty, I expected this to be a little longer. We all know Super Bowl time is pricey though, & this movie has a bit if uncertainty, to say the least. I didn't see anything in this trailer to worry me though. All in all, it looks like we're going to be hitting some familiar "Legends" spots. Looks like Han is trying to join the Empire. In those stories, that's how he meets Chewie. You get your first look at the Falcon, Woody Harrelson, & Donald Glover's pimp-Lando look. Everything looks great, except the big thing that's missing. You literally just get a glimpse of Alden Ehrenreich under heavy shadow. That's been a concern of mine in this one. Probably my biggest concern. Is this guy Han Solo? Everything that is in the trailer is totally on point though. How that unfolds into the whole picture. We'll see as this thing gets closer. What did y'all think though? "Indiana Jones 5" Seems To Officially Be A Thing

I was one of the 80s babies that got to see one of my favorite hero's, Han Solo, don a fedora & bullwhip in Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom . I immediately had my dad rent Raiders Of The Lost Ark,  & from that point on, the 2 out of 7 days a week I didn't have a lightsaber in my hand, I had a bullwhip. Needless to say we both were first in line for Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade,  the film I personally think is the best out of the series. Fast forward too many years later & Lucasfilm gives us a forgettable 4th part that felt more like the serials that inspired this series than the series itself. Saddest part is, I dug the plot, it was just very poorly executed. So I was very surprised today while watching Collider & hearing THR sources confirm that Spielberg is going to give Ford another run in the fedora. Set to release July 10, 2020, hopefully this can make up for the silly mess that was The Crystal Skull. We're 3 for 4, so I'm not terribly worried this can't work. I just hope they know how to use Indy still. We need adventure, high stakes, & somehow, Nazi's. Those three things do a good Indiana Jones  make. Maybe stop trying to be as funny as last time. As bad as the fridge scene was, nothing will ever be as bad in my mind as watching LaBeouf swing through the jungle with monkeys. What do y'all think though? Lucasfilm will go back to being a two truck pony. Put it in the comments, like, & share.

John Williams To Finish What He Started In "Star Wars: Episode IX"

Awesome news on the Star Wars front for Episode IX, John Williams will be continuing what he started with A New Hope. Collider has just reported via Variety, he's now set to compose the score for Episode IX. This will have him complete the Skywalker saga throughout the decades that it's unfolded, having his fingerprint on every piece. The argument has already started on whether this makes Williams the most important piece of the whole saga or not. Really? What would Star Wars be if not for this iconic score? I'm happy he'll get to round these out. Whether or not you think he the most important part, there's no denying he's at least at the top of the list. What do y'all think though? Is there anyone who would think after 1-8 this is a bad idea? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

New Year Finally Brings Some Good News For "Solo: A Star Wars Story", John Williams!!

There is one thing to me that is one of the major factors in Star Wars' popularity, & that thing is John Williams. For me, he's neck & neck with creator, George Lucas in importance to the galaxy far, far away. Now in an interview with Variety, John Williams has let it be know he will have his mark on Solo: A Star Wars Story. While John Powell will still be writing the score, Williams will be composing an original theme for Han Solo himself. This is the first good news this movie has good in awhile out of what I hope becomes a pattern. Like I said, I think John Williams is a piece of Star Wars & honestly, this film needs him right now. I'm glad with it being an anthology film, they're not giving him the whole thing. This small thing will just make it in that much more. Can't wait to see the trailer for this thing, I need at least one more positive in a row to safely put my faith back in this thing. What do y'all think though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Is "Solo" Going To Suck?

To say it's been a bumpy road getting to the finish line to the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story would be an understatement of giant proportions. With directors being fired, an actor that reportedly can't act, & a complete reshoot of the whole damn thing by Ron Howard this thing deserves a film about the actual making of the film. Now it's starting look like even the studio is losing faith in the movie not too many Star Wars fans have seemed to want in the first place. WDW News Today has reported that Screen Geek has a source close to the film's production informed them that "Disney is preparing for this movie to bomb." I mean... yeah. This is no real shock to me considering what this film's been through already. We'll get to see on May 25th whether or not this preparation is warranted, but so far this keeps looking like stubbornness. Everything has told this film to at least slow down. They just seem to have a hell bent determination to get Solo out May 25th no matter what. As always I hope it's good, even if I'm a little worried this go around. What do y'all think of this apparent lack of faith? Does it disturb you? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Sneak Peak At The Worlds Of Star Wars: The Last Jedi

With the clock winding down on the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi here's a look at the different planets we'll be visiting & their real-world counterparts. After seeing this, I think I'm most excited for Canto Night, the casino planet. It seems unlike any other atmosphere we've encountered so far in the Star Wars universe. These on-location spots are breathtakingly beautiful. Between Ahch-to & Crait, I can't tell you which one is a more amazing sight. Probably have to go with Ahch-To, but Crait is still a real visual treat. I've never seen salt flats in person, this makes me think I'll have t remedy that. Anyway, what world are you most excited to travel to in less than a week? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

"Droid School" With Anthony Daniels

I'm so excited this is a real thing. According to this featurette, Anthony Daniels, C-3PO himself, taught a droid school of sorts. He used his mastery of the craft of being the perfect droid to help other actors learn the ways for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He's like a droid Yoda. The best thing about this is it sounds like something I would totally make up as a joke. Yet here it is on video, Droid School. Does anyone else find this as hilarious as I do? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Rian Johnson Gives Some Huge, Small Details On His Upcoming Star Wars Trilogy

"New Characters, new places, let's start.. you know... let's start fresh." With those words to Collider, Rian Johnson has made his upcoming Star Wars trilogy even more intriguing. He also mentioned he will envision the whole of the trilogy, write & direct the first, & we'll have to see form there. My mind's racing as this news starts to narrow the possibilities of what we have coming once this thing gets underway. I'm still suspecting something Old Republic, but who knows? For that, matter how separated can we get? I know I had a hard time getting into Aftermath, & it's mainly because it's characters didn't have that big of a tether to any main Star Wars characters. However, that said, I'm glad I was able to get past that. I really enjoyed that trilogy of books as a whole. Proving it will get me eventually, if the stories good, but will that work on the whole. First impressions do mean a lot to most on the big screen, with second chances coming few & far between. I can't wait to hear more about this. Any ideas out there from y'all on what this could be? Old Republic, Bounty Hunters, or just something out the clear blue? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

While You're Relaxing This Sunday, Check Out The Rigorous Training It Took To Bring Us "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"

Three things really stood out to me in this training video from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. First, Daisey Ridley (Rey) sure did have to train harder than I thought one would to fight a rock. Second, Captain Phasma is finally going to get some action. And third, did you see the intensity in Adam Driver (Kylo Ren)? He's a beast! Dude was made for this role, slingin' around that medieval looking lightsaber like he's been doing it for years. This training does look pretty intense though. Towards the end of the video I found myself getting tired. In fact, screw crossfit, "Star Wars Battle Training" should be the new big thing in workouts. Probably could even get me into a gym with that. Anyway, what do y'all think? About the training & my new gym idea? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Daisey Ridley Is Done After Episode IX, But Does It Even Matter?

Apparently Rolling Stone was all over the future of the Star Wars galaxy. They've got Rey (Daisy Ridley) on acknowledging that after Episode IX she's done. She doesn't rule out maybe coming back in 30 years or so, but for now he seems pretty set on being done. Her services may not be needed however as J.J. Abrams confirmed he sees the Skywalker saga ending after Episode IX, saying the future is "in flux". Wow. Makes sense though, on both fronts. Thirty years apart for the future has seemed to work so well so far, why not try to repeat that success? I have a feeling this Episode IX, just like Return of the Jedi, will give us a nice wrap up to sit on for awhile. Plus, people are screaming for some Old Republic stuff. Personally, I'd even take some just pre-Phantom Menace stuff as well. Mace, Jango Fett, any young "insert-Jedi-here".... Nope, give Ahsoka a movie! Anyway, see? Skywalker can easily be an every thirty year thing. That's provided we don't get a definitive end in Episode IX.. We gotta factor in the fact that the family line might just end. What do y'all think though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Science & Star Wars Does Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is the topic of this Science & Star Wars, & that's all it is, a topic. I love this show for the experiments it does in the realm of Star Wars. This one was more of a show of where we are in the field of A.I. right now. Don't get me wrong this is very informative, & it did have Anthony Daniels, C-3PO himself. It just seemed to lack the draw of the other episodes. It felt like a science lecture, but that's just the nature of this beast right now. Not to many ways to pull of A.I., & they pretty have been with the co-host for every episode so far. It was cool seeing how it worked, just not as engaging as usual. Still can't wait for more, just a little more hands on next time around. What did y'all think of this one? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Science & Star Wars - Boba Fett?!? Boba Fett?!?

If you've haven't watched an episode of Science & Star Wars yet, this is definitely the one to break that streak. They take on bounty hunter Boba Fett, & this is a must see. Guest Daniel Logan (Boba Fett - Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones) takes a couple shots at one of the closest things they could mock up to Mandalore armor. The attacks take place with an arsenal I wouldn't mind having, a laser pistol & an even more impressive hand held flamethrower. This was awesome, & when I saw the list of characters in the beginning, I realized this could keep going for awhile. I can't wait to see more of these. My only wish is that they created a store, so we could buy some of this cool stuff. Heh, IBM moves away from computers to switch focus to the Star Wars business. That would be one of the best announcements ever. They're proving to be really good at this. Anyway, love to know what y'all think of this awesome video. Put it in the comments, like, & share.

I Just Found A New Respect For The Crystal Foxes Of Star Wars: The Last Jedi

At first, obviously it was all about porgs, & the adorable space penguins that they are. Now however, it seems the animal attention of Star Wars: The Last Jedi has switched to the crystal foxes of Crait. They're called vulptices, or the singular vulptex. The crystals come from the evolution of eating the planet's surface. For me however, the total respect came with this video. It shows the crystal foxes throughout their development for the film. These are actual live action puppets mixed with CGI elements. Seeing the legit puppet just did something for me. I love actual puppetry, & think that this mix with CGI should be the norm. As opposed to full CGI characters with no real base, there's no comparison. I love realness you get from this mix even more so than just one or the other. This mix has created some amazing effects when used together. I can't wait to get a better look at these things in action now. What do y'all think though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Take A Tour Of The International Space Station With "Science & Star Wars"

No big experiments this time around on Science & Star Wars, but that doesn't stop it from being one of my favorite episodes so far. This time around they're tackling space travel, making a great point that without space travel you have no Star Wars. It's literally in the name. First, they talk about all the advancements in space travel with different fuels & engines. Then comes the real treat, a tour of the International Space Station. I was actually so interested in this episode, I'm probably going to give it another watch after I write this. I'm blown away by all the things going on the ISS. So many advancements in all aspects of life have been made up there. Anyway, another really interesting episode, I hope they still have more up their sleeves. What do y'all think? Of this episode, or the series as a whole? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
